Guest post: the home of Freelennse

Op het werk leerde ik Lenneke kennen. Het klikte eigenlijk meteen en waarom? Omdat we beiden in beelden denken, elkaar in onze functie aanvullen en een handjevol humor delen. Lenneke (Lenn) is Content & Social Marketeer en samen vullen we de social media kanalen in, delen we inspiratie en informatie met onze doelgroep middels nieuwsbrieven en zijn we op de marketingafdeling elkaars ‘evil twin’. We versterken elkaar intens en door het gedeelde enthousiasme pakken we met een energieke drive projecten op.

We hebben inmiddels één idee uit die miljoenen-massa omgezet in actie! Door:denkertjes it is. Een lekker dubbelzinnige (en ook onzinnige) samenwerking waarin onze passie voor woord en beeld samenkomt. En de samenwerking is een sport op zich: de lachspieren worden intens getraind 😉

Blogger met een ongezouten mening
Lenn is naast ‘Dictee-ambassadrice’, ‘Restaurantmenu- en Supermarktcorrigeur’ en ‘Beroepsgek’ ook blogger. Met Freelennse deelt ze haar dagelijkse gedachten, ervaringen maar ook serieuze boekrecensies. Sinds kort is ze ook mijn bibliotheek 🙂

Ik kan boeken vullen over deze niet-gediagnostiseerde ADHD’er, altijd ‘hoi’ zeggende vriendin en collega, maar dit moest enkel een korte (!) introductie blijven…

Bewitching photography by Raggana

Bijna een jaar geleden schreef vriendin Jantine van Bleaq een gast blog met daarin prachtige kunstwerken die “a house a home” maken. En ik ben het met haar eens. Inmiddels ben ik zelf een kunstwerk rijker, maar mijn grote liefde voor fotografie is nog niet gestild. In mijn gedachten is mijn hal een soort ‘hall of fame’ vol mooie foto’s van getalenteerde (niet altijd bekende) fotografen.

Uiteraard kan ik zelf foto’s maken, maar sommige mooie plaatsen liggen niet om de hoek zoals het prachtige Litouwen waar Raggana haar fantasie de vrije loop laat. Haar fotografie is magisch en soms een tikkeltje melancholisch. Een optische illusie met in ieder portret een maatschappelijke boodschap. Geniet van deze prachtige ietwat sobere en fantasierijke foto’s!

Colour of the year 2015

Je hebt de kleur ongetwijfeld al langs zien komen, dus laat je niet misleiden door bovenstaande foto. Eerder dit jaar woonde ik een presentatie bij waar de kleur werd uitgesproken en tijdens de Woonbeurs ontving ik het Colour Futures 15 (CF15) boek van Flexa, Akzonobel. Koper Oranje is dé kleur van 2015. Het afgelopen jaar namen metaaltinten in het interieur toe en met name koper! Koper oranje is gelukkig (ik ben niet zo’n fan van oranje) een warme bijna terracotta oranje kleur, met een vleugje huidskleur (nude).

De afgelopen weken heb ik me verdiept in kleuren en nam het Akzonobel CF15 boek van voor tot achter door om de kleurkeuzes te begrijpen. Wat zijn kleuren toch mooi, persoonlijken gevoelig. Behalve de basiskleur van 2015, presenteert ColourFutures vijf kleurtrends te weten; Big nature + small me, Layer+Layer, +Unseen spaces, Him+Her en Friendly Barter+. Van deze vijf kleurtrends zijn “+Unseen spaces” en “Him+Her” mijn favorieten.

Inspired for Autumn by vtwonen

Deze week spotte ik de nieuwe website van VTWonen, en ik moet zeggen: I’m impressed! Als designer ben ik zo kritisch als ik ergens op de site komt over de look-and-feel en bepaalt het meteen of ik er dagelijks een bezoekje brengt. De vorige site van VTWonen had dat gevoel van ‘kom gezellig nog een keer langs’ niet bij mij. Gelukkig hebben ze nu een geheel vernieuwde site en vond ik een fantastisch inspirerend plaatje, die qua kleuren en warmte me heeft geïnspireerd voor een nieuwe kleurenpalet thuis. Met een antraciet kleurige bank en veelal blauwe woon deco ben ik al aardig op weg om het kleurenpalet van de afbeelding te verwezenlijken, nu nog het meer industriële karakter en de herfst bruine/ koperen kleur.

Helaas heb ik geen mogelijkheid voor hoge lambrisering in mijn woonkamer, maar ben ik druk met mijn hal project waar een soort lambrisering deels de verwarming afschermt (die ik immers nooit gebruikt) en deels “geheime” ruimte covert voor mijn sneakers.

Tell A Story with a Writers’font

Toen ik dit fantastische concept tegen kwam wist ik dat ik het lettertype moest gebruiken. Het verhaal was nog even afwachtend, want onlangs die hoeveelheid verhalen en scenario’s in mijn hoofd wilde ik niet een te geijkt verhaal delen. Maar ik heb besloten er een persoonlijke touch aan te geven, eentje waar ik onlangs aan herinnert werd toen ik door oude foto’s bladerde. Laat me je een klein verhaaltje vertelling, mijn verhaaltje. Maar kijk ook even verder dan dat en naar het grote geheel van dit concept en naar het super gave blauwe (fan!) busje.

Tell a Story is een rijdende boekenwinkel die vertaalde Portugese literatuur verkoopt. De bedenkers geloven er heilig in dat er geen betere manier is om een verhaal te herinneren, dan met een boek. Het Writers’font is een lettertype gebaseerd op de kalligrafie van de plaatselijke Portugese auteurs en inspireert je om net zoals deze schrijvers te schrijven. Nu ben ik (nog) niet in Portugal geweest en kan ik niet over mijn ervaringen daar schrijven, dus heb ik een klein verhaal over mezelf geschreven – in het Engels (niet mijn moedertaal, maar het ziet er mooi uit in het font!). When I spotted this awesome concept I knew I had to use this particular designed font! Writing my own story was a little bit more hard than I thought. I didn’t want to use something random, I wanted to share some thoughts, which you can read. It’s something I remembered while I was going through some old photos last weekend. Let me Tell a Story with a Writers’font, my story. But also check the amazing blue bookstore van!

Tell a Story is a bookstore on four wheels, which sells old translated Portuguese literature. The people behind ‘Tell a Story‘ believe there’s no better way than remembering a journey through a book. The Writers’font is a font based on the calligraphy of the Portugese authors to inspire you to write like them. Unfortunately I’ve never been to Portugal (yet), so I can’t share a story of my Portuguese experience, but I can share a little piece of my mind – and so I did. I’m not a native so please don’t judge on that 😉 Hope you like it!
