Afgelopen weekend bezocht ik de H&M Home om het aanbod aan douchegordijnen te bewonderen. Ze hebben een divers aanbod aan simplistische lijnen en bonte prints; keuze genoeg. Ook spotte ik de nieuwe collectie die ik toch even met je wilde delen!
Een van mijn favoriete woonwinkels is toch wel H&M Home. Ik shop er eigenlijk nooit meer kleding, maar bezoek regelmatig de H&M Home afdeling. Ook Jeroen is inmiddels groot fan en scoorde er laatst nog tropische kussenhoezen! Door de jaren heen heb ik er aardig wat geshopt, het is dan ook gevaarlijk om de Koopgoot te passeren zonder de winkel in te lopen…
Nieuwsgierig naar wat ik er zoal kocht? Ik gebruik niet voor niks tags, dus check zeker mijn H&M-tag 😉 O, en natuurlijk deel ik hieronder de primeur!
In het kader van ‘blijheid voor alledaagse gebruiksobjecten’ presenteerde ik al eerder mijn nieuwe prullenbak en nu heb ik weer een reden om blij te zijn: nieuwe mokken. Eenvoudige, maar stijlvolle, mokken. Ik drink er voornamelijk thee of een cappuccino uit, maar zie er werkelijk alles in geserveerd worden! Van toetje tot cactus. Lekker multifunctioneel mokken – woorden die je zelden in dezelfde zin ziet, maar waar ik graag aandacht aan schenk.
Enkele maanden geleden ging vriendin en styliste Stefanie aan bord van de Holland America Line waar zij o.a. de Caribbean mee ging ontdekken. Jaloersmakende foto’s passeerde de revue. Stefanie vergezeld door een papegaai en een tropisch drankje. Het hele tropische sprak me zo ontzettend aan. De diverse tinten groen gecombineerd met felle kleuren en gevlochten meubels. Zucht… ik kan wel een vakantie gebruiken waar ik tegelijkertijd een beetje kan bijkleuren en mijn melkflessen kan inruilen 🙂 (echt bruin word ik overigens toch niet door mijn rode haar).
Anyhow, ik ben wel in voor een tropische verrassing. Gelukkig hoef je niet langer je huis uit voor het tropische gevoel, want met de zomerse collectie van H&M Home geniet je van tropische prints, gouden accenten en natuurlijke materialen om je huis mee in te richten! Ik deel al graag enkele plaatjes met je van dit heerlijke vakantiegevoel! Pak je zonnebril erbij voor de volledige ervaring 😉
Bij ketens zoals H&M denk je vaak snel alleen aan kleding, maar ik shop er meer spullen voor het interieur dan kleding! Een conclusie die ik me zojuist te binnen schiet 🙂 Via de H&M heb ik al meerdere kussenhoezen en decoratie besteld voor mezelf, maar ook cadeau gegeven. Ook mijn ouders zijn fan. De natuurgetrouwe collectie met hazen op borden, eierdopjes en mokken siert de eettafel van het huisje op de Veluwe. Afgelopen weekend spotte ik de H&M Home AW14 collectie en vond het gedetailleerde beeldmateriaal waard om te delen.
De serie is strak gestileerd met een ruwe en industriële look-and-feel. Het is wellicht nog wat vroeg voor een enkele kerstdecoratie, maar aangezien je ook al genoeg truien en kruidnootjes spot, vind ik het persoonlijk wel kunnen. Wat vind jij van de H&M Home herfst/winter collectie? Mijn persoonlijke favorieten voor thuis heb ik gebundeld, al denk ik dat de decoratie familie op de Veluwe ook wel uitgebreid wordt! 🙂 
It’s getting more sunny by the day – well at least it does in Rotterdam. I reprogrammed my biorhythm to get home earlier in the evening to enjoy the last sunlight and have diner on my balcony. Just the motivation I needed to start and create my own little urban jungle. Earlier I shared my new balcony ideas, but for now I just added some more green to create a more colorful balcony. While visiting Igor’s blog (Happy Interior blog) I saw this awesome monthly Urban Jungle Bloggers theme from happy bloggers all around the world. This month I join the fun with the theme “Show your green balcony” . Enjoy the first look of my Urban Jungle in progress with bright yellows, fresh greens and warm wood.
Living in the centre of Rotterdam automatically creates an urban vibe when it comes to creating your own little garden with the space you’ve got. Although I love the color of concrete, the wooden flooring by IKEA creates a more warm look. The little bistro set is cozy but not enough for having more than just one friend over. That’s the reason I made new plans for my green balcony. The bright yellow cushion by H&M Home adds a little Caribbean touch and inspired me for a healthy snack from yoghurt and pineapple. Birds in the city are rare, besides pigeons and seagulls, so I adopted another Pols Potten singing bird :). All together I really love my urban green balcony. I just can’t wait to realize my ideas and finish it all together for summer. Hope you like it to!
While walking home I pass by this beautiful piece of street art almost every day. A praying woman with an alter ego… a dark image but a bit playful due to the chicken on top. The colors urban, bohemian, natural and african. I selected some color matching interior decoration pieces from great brands like Piet Hein Eek, HK Living and SNURK. The street art is by Brazilian artist Dante Horoiwa. For the very first time I found a matching fashion brand which I added to the small selection. Get inspired by street art from Rotterdam and add some natural tones to your living and closet!
Cryptic Duality is the name of this beautiful piece of street art, which reflects the buildings goal: provide special education for children often with an autistic spectrum. The mural was part of a Brazilian festival in Rotterdam, 2009. If you wanna visit the mural by Horoiwa, it’s 20 meters by 14 meters so you can’t miss it if you walk between the David Lloyd gym and the ‘Hofplein’ fountain. Three of the selected decoration accessories are by Dutch brands which I personally admire. Their focus on structure and material use are knowable signatures. Combining materials with an ‘earthy’ tone is both luxury as modern – a combination very popular in homes right now!

Last weekend I spent in a holiday log cabin in Drenthe, a region in The Netherlands. I got me a great deal so the decision was both easy and spontaneous! The outside of the cabin was awesome, almost like I’ve imagined (different color). But the inside was so disappointing! Poor, ‘cold’ and desolate. A log cabin for six persons, with an old leathered ‘modern’ couch, three not matching garden chairs and a not matching coffee table. Only the curtains were charming. So in a case like that, my mind takes over control. I’ve redecorated the cabin almost a thousand times, switching furniture and picking new ones. So I decided to create two different mood boards for a cabin redecoration, which I share in this post. Two different tones, one warm, one more clean but ‘airy’ to create the idea that the living is bigger. Enjoy!
There are a couple things to consider while redecoration a specific holiday cabin. First of all, it’s a cabin in the wood and surrounded by dirt which means no rug on the floor or furniture with textile to the floor. And second, the interior can not be to expensive because of the use by different visitors and because of the times the interior needs to be duplicated to all log cabins on the park. So to maintain a low budget I used furniture and decoration of IKEA and H&M Home. For the wall decoration I found some prints on Etsy, label them with the designers also honors the designer and gives the opportunity to collect the art for yourself 🙂
