Het interieur van dit grootse (350m²) appartement in Beijing is een mengelmoes van design van over de gehele wereld. Wat mij meteen opviel aan het appartement is toch wel de kleur op de muren in de living en in de tv-kamer die aardig overeenkomen met de kleur van 2017: Denim Drift! Ook een echte eye-catcher: de eikenvloer met visgraatpatroon.
This 750m2 apartment in Sao Paulo by Studio Guilherme Torres is filled with bold objects, designer furniture and accessories, and books of great artists like Jeff Koons, Keith Haring and Taschen. Torres’ work is full of outspoken objects and designer chairs, lightning and wall objects. Daring is what I love and although I feature lots of minimal apartments, I adore the bold! The 750 square meters apartment offers space for bold and beautiful furniture and still looks clean. Dare to come in this bold design apartment and get inspired by great masters, contrasts and decoration.
The VM house done by Studio GT is like a monochrome museum full of eye catchers. Torres even used lightning by our great Dutch Designer Marcel Wanders (MOOOI). The Horse lamp in the dining room and the Rabbit lamp in the bathroom. Everywhere in the apartment you find a touch of radiant orchid, Pantone’s color of the year. Only one room is fully colored. On March 14 I started blogging with LABEL1114 – and I’m glad I did! Blogging about interior makes me more than happy. I experienced a lot this year, gain new insights, learned more about blogging ’the right way’ and most of all: met great inspirational fellow bloggers! Looking back at the past 10 months, I enjoy all of it and selected 10 highlights. Although I’m still figuring out my style, I’m happy I started this journey to write and share my passion for interior with others. So ‘flashback’ with me and enjoy the best of LABEL1114 of 2013!

Bell Lamp
Design by Marcel Wanders for Dutch label MOOOI.
The bell represents a very early and essential form of communication, generating a welcoming ring that brings people together for festivities and congregations. Seen at the MOOOI Gallery during my visit in Amsterdam. Loved the huge version by entering the showroom.
Available in different colours and two dimensions. This transparent & gold edition is my personal favorite.
Today is the 20th of November, which means that 27 years ago I entered this crazy world! A newborn red head, ready to create pretty things and love design. Around the age of 6 I build my first home, made of Lego. I’ve always been a fan of those creative little cubes which I could build beautiful houses, man caves and super hero headquarters with. Yep, I was (and still am) that boy – now ‘man’ – with big dreams and lots of imagination. Creativity has always been my energy. Whether it was drawing, painting, creating puppets for my own little Muppet Show or Lego – a creative mind was the fuel to get it all done. Some years later the creative ideas started to get by night. I even redecorated my bedroom a couple of times at night – luckily my parents got used to it and as if today I surprise my friends with a new interior once in a while. Creating LABEL1114 is one of those big dreams which is now for real. Although I’m still searching for that one thing that is really my – LABEL1114 – personal style. I guess it’s all about developing. Can’t wait for LABEL1114 to turn 1 🙂 But for now, it’s about friends, family, cake… O and some of my favorite products by designers I blogged about earlier. Enjoy!

Imperfection is beautiful, these two home decoration pieces would fit my little rebellious living room perfectly.

– Rabbit lamp by Marcel Wanders for MOOOI –
This lamp is on top of my wish list. The fact that my last name has something to do with a rabbit / hare, makes it even more perfect to add to my home.
When I grow up I wanna have a high ceiling to create more space. I loved this living room I spotted on Pinterest!
Even though this is quite expensive, the pattern of this floor has been on my wish list ever since I bought my home. Maybe next year 🙂

During my visit at the MOOOI gallery in Amsterdam the lightning by Bertjan Pot blinded me. Pot is well known for his Random Light he designed in 1999, right after graduating from the Design Academy in Eindhoven. His designs show his love of material and technique. One thing I admire this designer for, is his interest to push the boundaries of industrial production. As a true MOOOI fan I couldn’t resist putting this Dutch designer in the designer spotlight.
Bertjan Pot’s work is in my eyes phenomenal and his passion for textiles and furniture inspire me. He is interested in the way interior products relate to their users and likes how small elements grow in something bigger, something beautiful. Studio Bertjan Pot works with manufacturers such as Gelderland, Montis and MOOOI.
Here are my personal favorites of designer Bertjan Pot. Enjoy and ‘enlighten’ your week!
Yesterday I visited Amsterdam with a good friend. We both have the same taste when it comes to interior, design and lifestyle. So we had to visit the HAY store, I had planned months ago. Following the route we both liked we visited HAY and MOOOI particular and some small shops on Haarlemmerstraat and Westerstraat.
Femme fatale, film noir, elegante designs en designer met lef… Deze dag staat in de designer spotlight niemand minder dan Nika Zupanc. De talentvolle product en interieurdesigner werd beroemd door de Lolita Lamp, geproduceerd door Nederlands designerlabel MOOOI. Zupanc’s collectie telt inmiddels meerdere producten, waarvan enkele limited editions en installaties over gehele wereld. Ik bewonder haar met name voor haar lichtontwerpen die een speelse twist hebben. Laat je inspireren door haar ‘punk elegance’ en ’techno chique’ designs…
Met de ‘MOOOIE’ start van LABEL1114 liet ik je al een glimp zien van Zupanc met de Lolita Lamp die zij liet produceren voor het label MOOOI. Zupanc liet het niet bij slechts 1 design voor dit brede bijzondere merk en creeerde ook de 5 O’clock tafel en stoel waarbij een bloemenprint en modern design gecombineerd worden. Zupanc ontwerp graag aan projecten die de grenzen verkent van karakteristieke benaderingen op moderne cultuur en design. Een stijl die je van MOOOI-designers verwacht en de stijl die ik persoonlijk waardeer!
De Black Cherry lamp is inmiddels één van de iconische producten binnen haar label (wij shopten de bijzonder vormgegeven lamp eerder voor zangeres P!nk). Inmiddels is deze lamp er ook in het goud – onze persoonlijke favoriet! Deze gouden ’touch’ is een duidelijke signatuur in haar collectie van 2013 die tevens inspirerend zijn en onderscheidend. Kortom een welverdiende plaats in de Designer Spotlight voor Nika Zupanc, die producten letterlijk in goud doet veranderen…

Eurasian is de nieuwe woonmodetrend waarbij de versmelting tussen het Verre Oosten en het Westen worden gecombineerd in een multiculturele interieurmix. Een trend waar de Juuyo lampen van de Italiaanse mode- en industrieel ontwerpster Lorenza Bozzoli sterk bij aansluit. Bazzolli ontwierp de Juuyo voor het merk MOOOI als ode aan deze bijzondere Japanse vrouwen die in de 17e eeuw gerespecteerd werden.
[dropcap]D[/dropcap]e vorm van de Juuyo lampen is gebaseerd op de pruiken van geisha’s. De Juuyo vrouwen waren de voorgangers van de nu bekende Japanse geisha’s. Ze waren gerespecteerde entertainers die meer aanboden dan enkel seks en plezierden hun klanten door hun dans, zang en belangstellende gesprekken. De vrouwen waren een bijzonder soort kunstenaars door de kennis en gevoel voor poëzie en kaligrafie. Ze waren de meest succesvolle en sterke vrouwen in Japan. De printen aan de binnenkant van de lamp zijn typerende iconen binnen de Oosterse cultuur.
De Juuyo van Bazzoli past als gegoten binnen de collectie van MOOOI en wordt aangeboden in twee versies. De ene lamp is voorzien van een Koi karper, de andere geïllustreerd met bloesems.

Juuyo Koi Carp tattoo
Japanse Koi karpers sieren menig lichaam als tattoo. Een tattoo die symbool staat voor de moed en de wil om veel groots te bereiken. Een van de meest geliefde symbolen in Japan!
Juuyo Peach Flowers
Zacht en vrouwelijk oogt deze Juuyo lamp door de bloesem takken die symbolisch staan voor bescherming tegen het kwaad. De bloesem staat daarnaast voor schoonheid, jeugdigheid en wedergeboorte. Een echte talisman!

Mijn grote passie voor interieur heeft eindelijk een vorm gekregen in een blog. En uitgerekend in week 11, 14 maart! Via LABEL1114 worden binnenkijkers gedeeld, interviews met jonge designers, innovatieve designs op interieurgebied, hotspots met een traktatie voor je netvlies en interieur trends. LABEL1114 is een interieur blog met een persoonlijk tintje. Zo gun ik je ook een kijkje in mijn eigen appartement en bij vrienden.
Ik trap het blog ‘mooi’ af met een ode aan het Nederlandse en inmiddels internationale label MOOOI. Het door Marcel Wanders en Casper Vissers opgerichte label bestaat uit een collectie die zich omschrijft als exclusief, uitdagend, speels en volmaakt. Een spannende combinatie die ik inspirerend vind en graag met je deel. Naast designs van niemand minder dan Marcel Wanders zelf, siert het label ook bekende designers zoals Studio Job, Nika Zupanc, Front, Bertjan Pot en Jaime Hayon, waar LABEL1114 je later mee verrast.
